The company has state-of-the-art facilities providing powertrain systems design and development as well as vehicle interpretation and calibration services for the automotive and heavy-duty manufacturing industries. REPORTS TO: Vice President and Chief Technical Officer EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent technical degree. JOB DESCRIPTION: To interact with the company's internal engineering departments and customers. To be responsible for technical and financial performance of engineering development projects. To define scope of work for engineering projects and associated project plans. To present project updates to management engineers and customers. To grow and lead engineers within the vehicle electronics business unit. To anticipate, identify, evaluate, and develop new electronics capable of being successfully commercialized by the company, which may provide significant market growth opportunities. To interface with all outside sources of innovations, including: universities, laboratories and businesses, which may result in new technologies. To manage technical support team and electronic/ controls program. To work effectively with peers to rapidly transition technologies from conception to production in an environment of continuous Improvement. To recommend termination of non-viable programs to allow the rapid redirection of scarce resources. WORK EXPERIENCE: 5-7 plus years of automotive industry experience in vehicle electronics/ control systems development. Simulation experience in MATLAB/ Simulink/ Stateflow Successfully managed people in a research development organization. Must have demonstrated the ability to significantly grow a business unit resulting in reduced product development cycle times. TRAVEL:Moderate travel in the range of 10 to 20 percent. LOCATION:Southeastern Michigan.
